Dear Colleagues, As a member of the Scientific Program Committee of the 25th International Input-Output Conference in Atlantic City, USA<https://www.iioa.org/conferences/25th/important_dates.html>, June 20-23, 2017, I would like to invite you to participate in one of two special themed sessions. Environmental Input-Output Input-output frameworks are among the most ideal for linking to environmental accounts. This call is for papers to be included in special sessions focused on theoretical advances in modeling environmental input-output frameworks, and innovative applications. For the purpose of this call, environmental input-output is broadly defined to include waste, pollution, carbon footprint, and attribution analysis. Sector Specific Issues in Input-Output Modeling: Trade, Transportation, and Information Services A range of IO modeling issues center on trade and transportation. In both national and regional IO, these issues include the accurate estimation of cross-hauling, geographical attribution of trade terms of value added or the location of expenditures, and the estimation of interregional commodity flow where such data are unavailable. This call seeks papers addressing these and related issues. Moreover, the shift in more developed economies away from manufacturing and toward service provision poses special challenges for accurate representation in national and regional accounts, and as a result also complicates impacts modeling. As difficult as it can be to track and estimate interregional trade in tangible commodities, advances in electronic communication and internet technologies magnify the challenge for estimating interregional and international trade in information services. Papers dealing with these are included in this call.
