Hi,
Someone corresponded with me off-list with this problem. The person had
an event that occurred on an irregular list of days, and wanted Remind
to automatically number the events (ie, "Event N of M") where M is the
total number of events and N is the specific event.
There's no way to do this in Remind. But then I thought "Hang on...
Remind has INCLUDECMD. We can *generate* such reminders..."
and the result was this. Genius? Or abomination?
Regards,
Dianne.
# Set your list of events here... space-separated dates
SET list "2025-08-17 2025-08-19 2025-08-25 2025-08-31"
# And generate those REMs!!
INCLUDECMD i=0; max=`echo "[list]" | sed -e 's/ /\n/g' | wc -l`; \
for d in [list]; do i=`expr $i + 1` ; \
echo "REM $d MSG Event $i of $max"; \
done
