I vote "genius". It looks like it's pretty low overhead, it's adjustable
for the number of events, easily reusable, and pretty elegant.
My only thought would be to cut down on subshells with an array variable.
$ LIST=(2025-08-17 2025-08-19 2025-08-25 2025-08-31)
$ for d in `echo {1..$#LIST}` ; do echo "REM $LIST[$d] MSG Event $d of $#LIST"
; done
REM 2025-08-17 MSG Event 1 of 4
REM 2025-08-19 MSG Event 2 of 4
REM 2025-08-25 MSG Event 3 of 4
REM 2025-08-31 MSG Event 4 of 4
INCLUDECMD LIST=([list]) ;\
for d in `echo {1..$#LIST}` ; do \
echo "REM $LIST[$d] MSG Event $d of $#LIST" ; \
done
--hymie!
