just wanted to add (Jim) - I'll gladly put up some (more) lovely KDE 
screenshots with very readable fonts.

I think I have a handful up at or around http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~jbyrne/ and 
http://www.cs.ucr.edu/~jbyrne/linux.htm if you want to check those out in the 
meantime.

I especially like the Aqua'ish themes and Mosfet's Liquid theme to make 
things stand out a bit more.

I always use a 'normal' middle button paste... and ignore most of the KDE 
desktop (with the exception of Konqueror, KView, and the screen capture 
program is useful)
