<---Well Mathew. It doesn't sound like you need a new receiver. That would be like throwing the baby out with the bathwater, no? It sounds like all you need to do is to get a decent COS signal from the Uniden you're using. That shouldn't be a huge deal. What are the levels you're seeing from the current "tap point"? It shouldn't take more than a couple of resistors and a transistor to get a "clean" source.
