Yes, you can (just like you an with any two radios).

That said, there is one very big problem in doing that.
It's called "duty cycle".

A T73 is a 100w mobile radio made to transmit for a
short period and then spend a long period cooling down.
Think of just how much time a police officer actually
spends transmitting during a typical shift - probably less
than 5%.

The Syntor X, like almost every mobile out there has a
relatively tiny heat sink compared to a made-for-the-job
repeater amplifier. For example, look at
<http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3814947151>

If you are determined to use a such a radio it's best to
look at the manual for a Syntor X and see what the
continuous duty specs are. Then look at the manual
and see what the power level at each stage in the PA
deck is. Then do some surgery to the power amp and
disconnect the DC power to the appropriate stages and
bypass them for RF. I'll bet that you end up with a 25-30w
radio. Then use that to drive a made-for-the-job external
amplifier - something that will survive the continuous duty.
Like this:

Look at www.repeater-builder.com under Micor and Mitrek
and read some of the comments on mobiles in repeater
duty. A lot of them hold true for Syntor Xs (think of the
Syntor as a redesigned synthesized Micor - a high end
mobile - and of the Mitrek as a really low end mobile).

BTW check out http://www.open.org/~blenderm/syntorx
for more info on the Syntor X.
