I agree with John and Greg, 

Myself an Authorized Kenwood Dealer... will try to 
resolve any proper Kenwood technical issue. I have 
both bad and good stories for all radio brands, 
including the big M.   I'd say it's probably more 
your local Radio Dealer than the brand.
