Another option on the 13-509 (220mhz) or the 13-500 (2m) is to use the Link-Comm board that puts a Micor squelch on it.
Look at my Mitrek Interfacing article at www.repeater-builder.com for info on that board, specifically <http://www.repeater-builder.com/mitrek/mitrek-interfacing.html>. The actual details are in the Carrier Squelch and in the Repeat Audio sections. Just take raw audio off the discriminator, run it through that board, and add the .01 cap to it to get de-emphasized audio (or leave it off to get flat audio).
