I just joined the S-Com list and I posted this question there - but as
a new member it has to wait to be moderated so I appologize for asking
on two lists but I figure there are some 7K experts here and I hope I
can get an answer before I waste too much more time.

I have a very recent S-Com 7000 controller with Vyex DAB and ver 2.04
controller firmware installed. I have spent countless hours trying to
program the 7K through the Vyex serial port using the process
described in the Vyex documentation on page 23.[i.e. ! {PW} CMD ##]
None of the commands appeared to work.

What I finally discovered is that if I cold start the 7K by powering
it on with the reset button held down - then it will accept commands
and programming from the Vyex serial port - but only until the first
time the power is cycled to the controller [warm start] or if a REBOOT
command is issued from the DAB serial port. After that commands from
the serial port do not execute - even though the same command will
still execute if entered by DTMF.

Is there any way around this problem or am I missing something simple?
