Many years ago, one of the major connector manufacturers (Amphenol?) made an RCA plug that was "RF Quality." It was made of tinned brass, and it had an extended sleeve for soldering the shields of RG-142 or RG-400 coax. It also had a ceramic insulating disk in place of the lossy phenolic disk normally used in cheap RCA plugs.
Hamtronics sells special RCA plugs that have a right-angle cover that folds over the cable and can be soldered. Dunno how they compare to the plugs with ceramic or Teflon insulators. 73, Eric Lemmon WB6FLY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob M." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <Repeater-Builder@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Sunday, May 28, 2006 7:55 AM Subject: Re: [Repeater-Builder] Need source for RF RCA connectors > OK, so how is an RF RCA connector different from a regular RCA connector?
