Thanks for the clarification. As for using VSLEP, if it is all that was available at the time the radios where received, why not use it? We had several donated to use that we subsiquently found out were VSLEP and continue to use them primarily for simplex digital operations. If we need to use a repeater, we go back to a conventional channel. Although most of the folks that are purchasing radios for personal use are being directed to look for IMBE/P25 radios.
