I remember those in electronics class at the community college. I think they are a propriatary connector HP used on their equipment.

Initially it looks just like an ordinary BNC female jack, and an ordinaryh BNC male connector will start to fit it, but... A regular BNC male will fit inside but the locking ring with two slots won't mate with the three nibs on the outside of the jack.
