Yes its a shame the day's of the neighborhood electronics shops are over ... I remember back in the 70's popping in a shop J&S electronics here and buying crystals & tubes (or even testing tubes on their tube tester)
As of late RS has become nothing more then a cell phone/GPS (consumer electronics) shop...
