I don't quite follow - the error message actually looks as if it's messed up to begin with and is some bytes being interpreted as Latin-1. The second example just shows `<>` which can't the 'right' version of whatever this is. What happened to the garbled text? that much doesn't seem to be related to HTML escaping, so just trying to make the connection between the problem you show and the solution -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
