Other implementations might be better for scaling tests, such as * [this GraphX implementation of LDA using EM](https://github.com/dlwh/spark/compare/feature/lda) or * [this other PR with an implementation of LDA using Gibbs sampling](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/2388) Those tests failure look unrelated.
