IMO we should use either - forum/fora and erratum/errata or - forum/fora and errata (for the reasons others gave about errata not being countable, not exactly) with 'forums' acceptable but discouraged for consistency with errata. What do we do for 'data'? Do we write 'datum' anywhere? I think errata and data have the same not-countable consideration for recommending that the singular and the plural be the same. I too am annoyed by (and annoying about?) these nits, and I'd rather we use the Latin plural forms than the English plural forms, especially for the uncountable cases where we can use the Latin plural as the singular. For reference I say 'octopodes' as the plural of 'octopus' even in speech, but also typos litter my writing, and in the past I used to misspell 'no one' as 'noone' (idk why; something to do with English being my third language).
