Basically I'm trying to prevent the auto-assembling of RAID volumes when
the Dom0 boots. All of this occurs in the /bin/init of the initial
ramdisk, before the root partition is mounted. Thus /etc/mdadm.conf
isn't available and (presumably) has nothing to do with my problem. By
the time /etc/mdadm.conf file is parsed by rc.sysinit, it is too late;
the RAIDs are already auto-assembled, which is the problem.

The RAID volumes don't belong to the Dom0 host, even though it can see them.

Also, if I make sure the RAIDs are not assembled on the Dom0, and then
boot up the DomU, it finds and assembles its RAIDs correctly. So I
don't need mdadm.conf there either (besides it is booting off the
software RAID-1).
