In fact this is mine: DEVICE=eth1 BOOTPROTO=none HWADDR=00:1E:4F:BB:D3:C5 ONBOOT=yes MASTER=bond0 SLAVE=yes MTU=9000 The device renaming based on MAC address works just fine. I know it does, because that's one of the devices I renamed after shuffling hardware around.
