PV guests still show up as 99% of the performance of bare metal under a good
many workloads.  Actually, a PV guest will sometimes out-perform bare metal
which is a little surprising.  Hardware virtualization is catching up
though.

Xen is also being used in large scale deployments.  Amazon EC2 is pretty big
:-)
