Figured it out, I could not move because partitions were mounted. Once unmounted, gprated came to rescue and made a breathe.

(no LVM) Disk /dev/sdd: 500.1 GB, 500107862016 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 60801 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sdd1 * 1 35 281106 83 Linux /dev/sdd2 36 9099 72806580 83 Linux /dev/sdd3 9100 9722 5004247+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/sdd4 9723 48663 312793582+ 83 Linux All 4 partitions are primary - no extended partitions have been created. I also have 100GB spare, but since I did not create extended partition I cant make use of existing space. I would like to delete swap and if possible move the sdd4 to sectors of swap. Then, I would create extended sdd5 105GB partition. Allocate 5GB to swap and 100GB to another partition. Is there any way to do this without deleting and recreating partitions?
