If the hardware vendor is saying 5.5 and above, why are you surprised that an earlier version is not working? If HP says 5.5 or newer, you need to install 5.5 or newer. If you look at e.g. http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/html-single/5.5_Release_Notes/index.html you'll see that we enabled support in 5.5 for Boxboro-EX and Boxboro-MC, we added support for a bunch of newer network cards, storage devices, etc. It should not surprise you that it's not working on newer hardware. - -- Thomas Cameron, RHCA, RHCDS, RHCX, RHCVA, CNE, MCSE, MCT Managing Solutions Architect 512-241-0774 office 512-585-5631 cell 512-857-1345 fax http://people.redhat.com/tcameron -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.14 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Red Hat - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAk2KRBkACgkQmzle50YHwaDSlACfbio1eNszeP0iBHgsXKJI2XZG keIAnRSlnV0uflfnBJaa90/rue1DLxPn =3afM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ rhelv5-list mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/rhelv5-list
