I have a bash script to back up my satellite server database scheduled to run
on Friday nights. It successfully does that and has a timestamp echoed at the
end that shows completion on Friday night. Sendmail doesn't even attempt to
send the output until Sunday morning when the logwatch report is sent
(according to maillog). In between, the Saturday logwatch report is generated
and sent. It's a simple script that has a MAILTO=root and when that didn't
send it as expected, I appended the crontab entry to mail it with the same
results. This worked fine under RHEL4. Any idea on why there is a delay?
