Recently our IBM supplier strongly voted on QLogic cards... Now I know why
:)

Thanks for advise and warning!!

What RHEL version/update are you planning to use?

Emulex 10G modules have decent amount of bugs still unresolved. They keep
emerging albeit slowly. We've heavily invested into Emulex 10G on HP G7
hardware and I'm regretting I made the pick.

Search bugzilla for Emulex 10G.

Good luck

I don't know for sure, but the Redbook:
http://www.redbooks.ibm.com/abstracts/tips0828.html

says that if you run the adapter in pNIC mode then "the Advanced
adapter or the Advanced upgrade operates in traditional Converged
Network Adapter (CNA) mode with two ports of Ethernet and two ports of
storage (iSCSI or FCoE) available to the operating system"

This sounds the same as the Cisco UCS adapters, so it sounds plausible
that you will see 2GbitE adapters and 2 HBA's (or 1 HBA with two
ports), but you should really check with your friendly IBM sales guy
before you plonk down the cash.

Cheers
