Dear Rietvelders,
See below for three postdoctoral positions available within the Structural
Science Group here at the Advanced Photon Source
(http://www.aps.anl.gov/Xray_Science_Division/Structural_Science/).
Please distribute to anyone you think would be interested and a good match for
the positions.
For interested candidates, you can click on one of the links for more
information and to apply through Argonne's careers portal.
Please contact Karena Chapman
(chapm...@aps.anl.gov<mailto:chapm...@aps.anl.gov>) or Peter Chupas
(chu...@aps.anl.gov<mailto:chu...@aps.anl.gov>) if you have any questions about
the positions.
Best,
Greg Halder

Postdoctoral Appointee in Battery/Electrolyte
Characterization<http://www.anl.gov/careers/apply-job/postdoctoral-applicants>,
Structural Science (SRS) Group
#322649, Advisor - Peter Chupas
A postdoctoral position is available in the Structural Science group of the
Advanced Photon Source. The appointee will work closely with Dr. Peter Chupas
and other members of the SRS group as part of JCESR - the Joint Center for
Energy Storage Research ( www.jcesr.org<http://www.jcesr.org> ). The research
will be focused on characterization of battery electrodes and electrolytes
relevant to the development of transformative energy storage solutions (e.g.
multi-valent batteries) using parametric and in-situ/operando synchrotron-based
X-ray scattering experiments (e.g. X-ray powder diffraction and pair
distribution function methods) and other complementary methods.

Postdoctoral Appointee in Battery
Characterization<http://www.anl.gov/careers/apply-job/postdoctoral-applicants>,
Structural Science (SRS) Group
#322651, Advisors - Karena Chapman / Peter Chupas
A postdoctoral position is available in the Structural Science group of the
Advanced Photon Source. The appointee will work closely with Dr. Karena
Chapman, Dr Peter Chupas, and other members of the SRS group as part of the
NorthEast Center for Electrochemical Energy Storage (NECCES) Energy Frontier
Research Center (http://binghamton.edu/necces/ ). Research will focus on
developing new experimental approaches and sample environments to probe
different aspects electrochemical reactions, and studying battery materials to
understand their function and failure using in-situ/operando synchrotron-based
X-ray scattering experiments (e.g. X-ray powder diffraction and pair
distribution function methods) and other complementary methods.

Postdoctoral Appointee in Porous Materials Characterization, Structural Science
(SRS) Group <http://www.anl.gov/careers/apply-job/postdoctoral-applicants>
#322650 Advisor - Karena Chapman
A postdoctoral position is available in the Structural Science group of the
Advanced Photon Source. The appointee will work closely with Dr. Karena Chapman
and other members of the SRS group as part of the Inorganometallic Catalyst
Design Center (ICDC) Energy Frontier Research Center
(http://www.chem.umn.edu/icdc/). The research will focus on characterizing the
structure and reactivity of new MOF-based catalysts for energy- and
atom-efficient reactions using in-situ/operando synchrotron-based X-ray
scattering experiments (e.g. X-ray powder diffraction and pair distribution
function methods) and other complementary methods.
