Not really powder diffraction, but we are all multi-faceted :-) I have
recently made a number of simple x-ray Laue cameras
https://neutronoptics.com/news.html#laue and customers ask about purchasing
NIST standard ruby spheres for Laue camera alignment, which have long been
used at ILL and other labs.
https://www.nist.gov/publications/standard-reference-material-srm-1990-single-crystal-diffractometer-alignment

Anyone know where small ruby spheres suitable for Laue camera
backscattering might be purchased these days ?

My very best wishes to the Rietveld list participants for the end of year
celebrations, and a happy and healthy New Year 2026.

Alan.
