Dear Colleagues, Please consider submitting an abstract to the microsymposium MS093: "PDF (total scattering) experiments and local structure characterization of functional materials" at the upcoming IUCr Congress in Calgary, Canada (August 10-18). Scheduled for the afternoon of August 16, this session will spotlight recent advances in PDF/total scattering and their synergy with spectroscopic methods to probe local atomic and magnetic order and structural dynamics in functional materials, linking local structure to bulk properties.
Confirmed invited speakers include Nicholas Bedford (Idaho National Laboratory/Colorado School of Mines), Valeri Petkov (Central Michigan University), and Yuanpeng Zhang (Oak Ridge National Laboratory). In addition to invited presentations, we plan to include a small number of contributed oral talks selected from submitted abstracts, highlighting emerging results and new directions in the field.
