Whoops, turns out it was lossylibrarysync.pl
(http://seatofthepants.net/?_d=_s2) that I used before! This is
another script to go from flac to mp3 and also handles updates to tags
without having to reencode the mp3s. It did have the problems I
mentioned, but I notice there have been new versions since.

PS But I still appreciate your effort in writing flac2mp3.pl and
making it available, Robin. ;-) I'll give it a go when I have a
chance.
