Lots of possible answers here, these are mine: - AFAIK, the SB2 won't play the WMA file natively so the files have to be transcoded at the server side before transmission (perhaps not a problem if you have plenty of spare server power)
- Windows Media Player is not as robust a CD ripper as, say EAC (if you're going to spend a lot of time ripping all of your CDs, you really don't want any errors creeping in) - I don't like Microsoft and closed, proprietary, formats.
