Robin,
Just to clarify... did you mean:
"You *could* enable normalisation in EAC but I would recommend you
re-rip your <CD's or uncompressed source files>  to flac format. " Or
are you really suggesting that he re-encode his existing normalized
MP3's as FLACs? 

If steady volume during random play is the only goal... and if Bernt
doesn't feel compelled to re-burn his existing MP3 collection... why
burn FLAC files at all? He could simply burn everything out as MP3's
then apply MP3Gain to the lot... which I =believe= should be capable of
levelling out both the old "normalized" MP3's and any new MP3's he might
burn.
