Thanks for the reply, but I wasn't using playlists and I think I managed
to figure things out last night. Bizarre problem that I would love to
know the reasons behind.

As mentioned, every one of these songs will play in Winamp, but not
Media Player and several other popular players. It appears that each
and every one of these songs was encoded using some 'odd' mp3 codec or
somehow the mp3 got corrupted. Both scenarios are mind-boggling since
often times half the tracks from a CD ripped with the same ripper were
good and the other half playable only by Winamp.

In any event, if I convert the files from MP3 to MP3 format, they all
work fine with no troubles; or in essence simply recompile/reformat the
MP3. The interesting thing is that it took me 10 or 12 programs to find
one that could even open, let alone convert the files. dbPowerAmp and
other popular programs gave me a 'Could Not Open File' error until I
found one (an audio editor - Wave MP3 Editor by Code-It software) that
actually would open it and allow me to resave it, thereby recompiling,
or reformatting the file.

I am happy now as the SB will play the tracks, but still confused as to
what happened to these MP3s....
