If the ripping drive supports C2 reporting (many do these days), then
secure mode is just as fast as burst mode on an undamaged CD. With the
C2 option switched on, EAC will only re-read if it is informed of a C2
error. If any of your CDs do have C2 errors (and some pristine-looking
CDs can quite easily have some C2 errors), then you really want to use
secure mode. So if you have a drive with C2 reporting, using secure
mode is a win-win option.
