When foobar writes ReplayGain tags, it does not
alter the file at all, it just writes the
ReplayGain tags, so volume adjustment *is* required.
This is unlike MP3Gain, which uses the ReplayGain
algorithm to compute tags and writes them, but
which can also alter the file.
Also I don't know where the 83 dB came from - I
thought it was 89 dB?
BTW you do not have to use foobar to write
ReplayGain tags, you can do it while you're
encoding. In your FLAC encoding command-line
arguments, just specify "--replay-gain".
