When it says "WMA" AFAIK it just means lossy, not lossless at the moment. The level of FLAC compression doesn't seem to make a lot of difference to anything (if you go for a high level it just takes a lot longer to compress for not much additional compression). So if you want lowest load on the CPU, but still lossless, your best bets are FLAC and WAV: but use FLAC, it will give you lower bandwidth plus the ability to store tag info.
