FWIW, my files are presently mostly OGG @ 160VBR. I'm re-encoding everything to MP3 via lame 3.97 w "V 0 --vbr-new" for top quality in a compressed format and greater compatibility across devices. My CPU is an Athlon XP 2200 or so (1.8Ghz), 512 RAM, 100MB Intel NIC. CPU utilization is a whopping 2.3% with two players going! Memory usage is higher at near 10% sometimes. Server has only been up for 43 days though.
