Thanks Ceejay. I suspect this is a ID3v2 tag issue then, but still not sure why it would work on the player interface but not show the same on the web interface.
Yes to the full rescan (including a manual delete of *.db) but no to including other albums in the test library - will certainly give that a try. If not, will try ripping to FLAC with Vorbis comments (EAC presumably ?) like you and see if that gets the right behaviour in the web interface.
