Update on full-bitrate DTS: the latest 'nightly build' (http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_nightly.html) of SlimServer 6.2.2 (as of 2005-02-22) contains a new firmware version, v35. This contains improved FLAC support, and it seems to have addressed the problem we've seen with full-bitrate DTS files.
I carried out a brief test earlier: I was able to listen to a Porcupine Tree song in DTS with no skipping, with the FLAC being decoded natively on the SB2. (Since the PT albums were the reason I started the spdifconvert project, I'm pretty chuffed!) I'll update the guide accordingly; the next step is (as was suggested earlier) to get this information into the Wiki, now that everything seems to be supported. And I'd still like to get this running for SB1 users, so I'll try to find out how to tweak the data stream to do that. Many thanks to the lovely person at SlimDevices who implemented the FLAC decoding improvements! -- smst ------------------------------------------------------------------------ smst's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=752 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19260 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
