Can't vouch for png files, but slimserver works fine for cover.jpg images located in individual album folders. Have made standard 250 pixel by 250 pixel files by scanning cd covers at 53 pixels per inch. If you scan at a higher resolution and then resize down, the artwork does not look nearly as good. Alternate source if you don't like scanning is to go to Amazon com and search music for the album or artist. If you right click on the image and look at properties you can find the pixel size. Then right click again and use "save this image as" to store it as "cover.jpg" in the appropriate album file. If you use 250 pixels as the standard image width and height, Slim server apparently stretches a smaller or disproportioned image to be 250 by 250 more or less. Even more, the images are apparently scanned as part of the music update. Thus if you change or add a cover.jpg, the revised or added image will NOT, repeat NOT, show up until the music is rescanned. Next to Amazon the next best source is a google search for the album or artist in "images" but most of what will showup will be either too small or need resizing. Good luck. -- dickmc ------------------------------------------------------------------------ dickmc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4025 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=20427 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
