I have also found that mp3 plays back fine and both Ogg and FLAC have problems. The playback works for a few seconds and then becomes jumpy. Checking performance during the difficulties I register: the wireless strength at around 60% (mp3s work fine even when strength drops to the 30s), server memory and CPU usage nowhere near capacity.
I thought I would try bitrate limiting, but the settings page says "You do not appear to have LAME installed", even though I do and it is in the path.
