Sounds like a nice app and a good contribution, but do you have any data on what extra time ReplayGain calculation at encode time entails? It would be interesting to see the extra time that's added.
You don't seem like a neophyte so I'm sure you're aware that you don't have to run metaflac to calculate and write ReplayGain tags. Just use --replaygain in your encoding argument.
