Two things to try: Reboot the computer and leave the CD in the drive. That'll clear anything that may have loaded itself into memory of there's some wierd copy protection or autorun feature
Second, to prevent autorun hold down "Shift" as the CD spins up. If Windows gives you the "sticky keys" message just kill it.
