Looks like you have already made up your mind and I am not really
trying to change it but as one who has been going through this
excercise recently I thought I might add my comments.

WMA does come out slightly smaller.
EAC is a better ripper than WMC. I have discovered that around 3% of my
commercial CD's have pocked up serious errors over the past 15 years
mostly through "Bronzing" and EAC has detected these and recovered what
it can enabling me to do repairs. WMC just carried on ripping errors in
some cases without warning and in others it failed.

Microsoft are committed to improve "Music Security" and just because
you can do what you like with some WMA format files at the moment
doesn't mean that you will be able to do this in the future. Microsoft
already have agreements with some software writers about copying and
there is at least one transcoder package available which will not
attempt to transcode out of any WMA format.

There is at least one Flac/Ogg codec package available which works with
WMC and other packages such as WinAmp.

I am using a Squeezebox 3 therefore onboard decoding of Flac reduces
the load a little on my Server.

My choice was Flac.
