I'm currently in the process of re-ripping my collection to FLAC. I've recently discovered MusicBrainz Picard, and I'm making much use of it to sort out all the dodgy tags that EAC/FreeDB adds.
I'm keen to have the "Lastname, Firstname" sorting for solo artists, and I notice that Picard creates a tag MUSICBRAINZ_SORTNAME for just this purpose. Am I correct in thinking that I have to copy the data from this into ARTISTSORT for Slimserver to act on it (SS doesn't seem to use the MUSICBRAINZ_SORTNAME tag)?. I have no problem doing this, and I've created a simple MP3tag action to do it, but thought I'd better check I'm not missing out on a clever way for SS to use the MUSICBRAINZ* tags directly, or get Picard itself to set the ARTISTSORT tag. Come to think of it, I don't quite understand why Picard creates new tags when there are standard ones already available.....
