Hmm, well if that were the case, anyone with Quicktime could play
iTunes DRMed files, but it isn't.

The only application that can play iTunes DRM files is iTunes itself,
period.  I do not believe Quicktime Pro users can play it.

So again it comes down to - Apple needs to license their DRM, and
doesn't!  Microsoft PlaysForSure does.

Yes, you'd have to pay for the license, but this isn't even an option
at any price.

The only alternative is to have SlimServer use iTunes output directly
like Roku does.  This has not been supported by the existing community
(myself included, I will never buy anything from iTunes) but Logitech
may want to do this in the future for new users.
