DRM isn't the answer, for so many reasons.
Indeed, and I'm guessing many of them are now fat and happy via the buyout, assuming they got private stock or options on private shares. All because their intellectual property was WORTH SOMETHING to another, bigger company. If it hadn't been protected by copyright law, then Slim Devices wouldn't have had any value and Logitech (who is bound to screw up this whole open source thing the same way Denon screw up ReplayTV when they bought it out, but that's another story) would have just taken the code, ideas, etc. and created it from scratch instead of paying the founders of Slim Devices (and hopefully many of the employees) a lot of money for their work and wonderful creativity. -- tlp [164kb MP3 encoded library (wish FLAC had been around when I did most of my ripping oh so long ago) -> PC -> 100 Mb network -> SB3 -> Denon 3805 (used mainly as a pre-amp / DSP) -> Speakercraft BB1265 running whole-house audio, rack of assorted amps, mostly older Carvers or Sunfires -> bi-amp'd Paradigm Reference Studio 100 V.3's, CC-570, ADP-470's, and my own make of electrostatics (hence the rack of Amps).] Terry ------------------------------------------------------------------------ tlp's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8459 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=29626 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
