This gets asked a lot.  And I usually reply with the same advice.  A
nicer way to do this is to just rip and encode in Flac and then use a
program or script that will create mp3 files automatically from the
Flac files.  Ideally, you can mirror your Flac library in Mp3,
scheduling the script to run automatically once a day.

Just one of the nice things about doing it this way is that Flac
encoding is very fast and generally adds nothing to the time it takes
to rip a CD.  Mp3 encoding, on the other hand, is much slower.  Doing
it in the background during off hours makes CD ripping faster.  Also
easier... programs like MAREO can sometimes be tricky to set up and
difficult to troubleshoot when they don't work as expected.
