I knew I could count on you guys. That other link has a better explanation of the exact vulnerabilities. I knew there were commercial sites to download FLAC such as certain bands that are bucking the RIAA. I would assume that those sites would be relatively safe for two reasons. They want our money so they are not going to produce attack files and for their own preservation should be checking their own servers for corrupted files.
What I was not aware of was that there were legal or illegal FLAC file sharing sites. That being the reason for my general comment about downloading as related to the massive sharing and downloading of MP3s, legal of otherwise. Looks like I better update to be safe and smart, one less thing to worry about. -- iPhone iPhone Media Room: Transporter, Vandersteen Quatro Signature, Ayre MX-R Mono Blocks, VTL TL-6.5 Signature Pre-Amp, VCC-5 Reference Center Channel, four VSM-1 Signatures, Runco 710, RAM Oppo DV970HD, VeraStarr 6.4SE Living Room: Squeezebox 3, Vandersteen Model 3A Signature, Two 2Wq subs, VCC-2, Two VSM-1, ADCOM GTP-870HD, Cinepro 3K6SE III Gold Bedroom: Squeezebox 3, Thiel 2.3, NAD C370 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ iPhone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13622 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40287 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
