I knew I could count on you guys. That other link has a better
explanation of the exact vulnerabilities. I knew there were commercial
sites to download FLAC such as certain bands that are bucking the RIAA.
I would assume that those sites would be relatively safe for two
reasons. They want our money so they are not going to produce attack
files and for their own preservation should be checking their own
servers for corrupted files.

What I was not aware of was that there were legal or illegal FLAC file
sharing sites. That being the reason for my general comment about
downloading as related to the massive sharing and downloading of MP3s,
legal of otherwise. Looks like I better update to be safe and smart,
one less thing to worry about.
