Glad it worked! Surely it means that your album list is no longer sorted A-Z?
Anyway, mp3tag can do this to your entire library in one go... 1 Back up all of your music files first! Really, don't chance it without! 2 Open mp3tag, load all of the files you wish to tag 3 Click Convert > Actions > New 4 Enter what you want call this action. "Fred" would do! 5 Click New. Select "Format Value" from drop-down. Click OK 6 In "Field" enter ALBUMSORT and in "Format string" enter %year% When you then run this action on all highlighted files it'll copy their year tag (assuming it exists) to ALBUMSORT, creating ALBUMSORT tag if it needs to. Should work on the vast majority of file types, too. Note!! if each track on a compilation has a different value for year you may experience strangeness in sorting!! Worth reading up on actions and regular expressinos on the mp3tag forums - they'll save you hours and hours of work. -- moley6knipe 2 x SqueezeBox 3 | 1 x SqueezeCenter 7 | 1 x Win XP Pro SP2 | 1 x Happy listener :-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ moley6knipe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10014 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=45501 _______________________________________________ ripping mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/ripping
