I used to use CUE's and images because it was a good way to ensure perfect gapless playback for mix/live recording CD's etc. It's also a good way to archive CD's - just a single FLAC image file with the CUE sheet embedded. But in the end i gave up, support is just so limited and you can achieve the same with individual FLAC files.
