I have been struggling to understand the purpose of CUE files. I am able
to produce a cue file with autoflac and EAC. However I do not understand
why I need the cue file to reproduce an exact copy of the original CD. I
have experimented with Switch Sound File Converter which will take FLAC
files and convert these to WAV files(without CUE files) which I would
think could easily be burned onto a CD. Does a cue file smplify this
process ? Also if the cue files are moved to a different folder does
this render the cue file useless. I am just getting started on ripping
my collection to FLAC and want to know if the FLAC albums that I
produced before I installed autoflac need to be ripped again because
they have no CUE files.
