Yeah, those are the magic words. I've found that the "Look for new and changed music" option is not very reliable (read: isn't worth a damn) so whenever I make any major changes to my music library, such as altering the file format or deleting lots of tracks, I just do a complete rescan. And believe me, I have a very large music library, with almost 74,000 tracks, and I only do a complete rescan because the other options just don't do what they are supposed to do.
